Benjamin Franklin once said: “Anger begins in folly and ends in remorse.”
 
人一发怒，一个明理、慈爱的人也会失去理智，说出、做出让自己后悔难过的言行。愤怒的后果，远比它的原因更糟糕。
Anger can leave even the most reasonable and compassionate person bereft of his senses and to speak and act in a way that will call for remorse at a later date. The fallout from acts of anger are often much worse than the justifications for it.
 
别人的恶行并不是你的错，只有自作的恶行才是你的错。有人对你说三道四，你不随之起舞，谁是不三不四，昭然若揭；他说你邪恶，你却回以良善，谁是邪恶，不辩自明。如果你为别人的错误而表现恶行，那你就是在代替那恶人承担错误。你是拿别人的错误来惩罚自己。
The unskillful actions of others are not your fault. You are responsible only for the unskillful actions of your own making. When another person slanders you, don’t reply in kind and it will be abundantly clear who is the deceitful one. When another person calls you underhanded, if you reply with goodness, if becomes absolutely clear who is the underhanded one. If you undertake unskillful deeds as a result of the words and actions of others, you are in fact carrying the wrong on their behalf; you are assuming the mistakes of others and punishing yourself.
 
当你错的时候，不配发脾气；当你对的时候，用不着发脾气。
When you are mistaken, it is unworthy to lose your temper. When you are correct, there is no need to lose your temper.
